Scope & eligibility

What we review

During the pilot, Project Clarity focuses on straightforward matters where a careful factual review of documents can genuinely help.

Pilot priorities

  • Straightforward consumer purchases
  • Vehicle repair complaints
  • Non-urgent disputes that are completed or inactive

What we can look at

Invoices, receipts, contracts, letters, emails, messages, photographs, reports and your own written account. Up to 100 pages of source evidence per accepted case during the pilot, including your initial submission and up to three additional submissions where authorised.

Matters we exclude or refer for professional advice

  • Criminal matters
  • Immigration matters
  • Family and child-related matters
  • Personal injury matters
  • Matters with urgent court deadlines
  • Complex or highly sensitive disputes
  • Regulated claims-management activity
  • Anything outside a defined factual evidence review

If your matter is excluded, we will say so plainly and suggest you seek advice from an appropriately qualified professional. Citizens Advice and the Law Society's "Find a Solicitor" service are useful starting points.
